Context: so the newest Torchwood release for this wee review, which I am sure means I am missing things as I am not even 20 in from the start of the monthly range. Nonetheless, I accept this and move onto this one with pleasure. I really like the relatively short and contained structure of these Torchwood adventures.
THE REVIEW
What I thought: Decent, very odd concept, the alien teleporting baby and all, still not entirely sure why this happened however it’s good fun, with Suzy and Hywel being a decent double act. I am not keen on the concept of ‘one night stands’ in a real life sense, I am no puritan but I dont really like this context for an adv true, so that was a slight negative for me however it is Torchwood so this kind of thing comes with the territory. It makes me sad though. Moving on, this is a fun story, with baby ‘Sambucca’ being an interesting idea/catalyst for all the doings in the story. Good fun, nothing amazing but fun nonetheless. Can’t say I can recall a lot more about the protagonists but this does a good job of adding depth to Suzy.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Nappies: solid episode, Suzy is good fun and the teleporting baby is a good invention/idea as the McGuffin for this story. Pretty standard Torchwood monthly really, passed the time nicely.
What I felt: amused and entertained, nothing special but solid I would say.
What am I left thinking?
- Not a lot to be honest, a very self contained episode with strong performances and a nice wrap up at the end.
Memorable bits
- The baby
- Stag do’s and sambucca shots
