Context: back to Daleks and to the wonderful Tom B and Leela, throw in K9 and Exilon, high expectations pre-listen for this one! I didn’t really have an immediate plan to listen to this series other than I planned to get to it ‘one day’. I do have Dalek Universe on Vinyl, and with a wee GAP in my listening schedule, along with the upcoming Anya Kingdom spinoff the time was ripe to get this one listened to and delve into some COVID era Tennant as well.

THE REVIEW

What I thought: I very much enjoyed this adventure, and as I had listened to Tom’s series 8, where Ann/Anya and the fourth Doctor clash over the Syndicate etc etc so I was well up for the return of Anya and Mark Severn. In fact, I bloody love these characters and this adventure has cemented this for me, I will defo dip into the upcoming spin off now I have listened to this one. Anyway, this one is a great adventure that thrashes along at a great pace, so much fun to be back on Exillon and with a nefarious Dalek plan coming to fruition. The Exilons are great, and to have Bellal back (albeit Nick Brigg’s version) is lovely, and there is something very listen-able to this adventure, Tom B is on great form as are Louise J and John L as K-9 (who i enjoy so much more on audio then I did on the TV). Daleks are great and then mixing in Anya and Mark, lovely lovely adventure, can’t wait to explore the Dalek Universe (and being back with Mark and Anya soon in their own spin off).

Rating: 4.4 out of 5 Daleks: brilliant story, brilliant acting, music, the whole 9 yards. Highly recommend this one!
