THE REVIEW

What I thought: good, strong episode of Torchwood again, its a fairly simple adventure in some ways, like many other of these Torchwood adventures again a small cast but one that fills the audio adventure space admirably. Suzie is a great character and is explored really well here, with some series darkness thrown in, in particular the fate of Alex…totally brutal. The whole ‘game hunt’ vibe is great fun and the referee is great, caustic, hilarious at times, fun and Suzie’s interactions with him are a highlight. Very solid listen and continuation of the high standard of the Torchwood monthly adventures.

Rating: 3 out of 5 weird occurrences – solid adventure, not spectacular, and a pretty simple premise but good fun. I enjoyed listening to this one (the ending is very Dark, as Torchwood should be).

What I felt: a bit of a brutal ending, that makes you think about human worth, these adventures can go dark and philosophical pretty quickly as well as a classic adventure whipping along.

What am I left thinking?

  • Not a lot, some more reference to a conspiracy/committee but still not that clear who the hell they are and what the hell is going on
  • Is Suzie always this brutal!?!

Memorable bits

  • The ending!
