THE REVIEW
What I thought: decent, perhaps a little underwhelming. Writing this review some weeks after listening to this one I am finding it quite hard to recall specific parts, although the whole storyline around the master being in it, not in it stuff was good fun. I really like the idea of the club and the mismatched and odd members. I don’t fully understand how Benny fits in with all this but nonetheless it’s an interesting sidewise set of adventures for Benny. The interaction between the Sontarans, Draconians and Drahvids is great fun, and the comedy spills out of this one.
I do feel the sadness of not having David’s Warner’s alternative 3rd Doctor gets some melancholy over this one though.
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Sonta-Ha’s – solid, amusing and some nice twists in the story. Good start to this new run of Benny adventures and a welcome respite from the mega long, multiple boxset adventures (I do love that but its nice to have a slightly different format for some of my BF listens).
What I felt: A little confused at times, although mostly in an amiable and non-problematic way. Interested to hear where this one might head in future installements.
What am I left thinking?
- Will the master actually turn up/and or other Who classic bad dudes?
- What is this club business all about anyway??
Memorable bits
- The meandering around the garden with the oldest member
- LOVE the interplays between Starll and pretty much everyone else
