THE REVIEW

What I thought: another strong edition to the Torchwood monthly range, with Eve Myle’s Gwen taking the spotlight in this one. It’s a funny story in many ways, making a chap from the planning department (Roger Pugh) come for a ride along in order to show him how important Torchwood is (and therefore give Torchwood planning permission to rebuild their HQ, great conceit!). It’s a daft concept, on paper, but it works great! Great fun and Richard Nichols provides some very affecting material around his wife, who was killed in a car crash. I certainly had tears in my eyes at the end of this one. Lovely stuff.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Boes – lovely story, poignant and fun, with great performances (the music and sound is very effective in this one). Very much recommended.

What I felt: pretty moved to be honest, sad and honest commentary on grief and the ‘justice’ of the universe. Makes an amazingly strong case for the Torchwood range, very much worth a listen.

What am I left thinking?

  • If the team will get together?
  • How Andy becomes a Torchwood person/operative?

Memorable bits

  • Andy turning up (was he already known at this point in the Torchwood/who timeline – I need to check this) and where he fits in the Torchwood chronology
  • The odd, horrible and humours collection of aliens in here
