Context: so this is me up to date with my 8th Doc adventures, being fortunate to pre-order and then listen pretty much as soon as they are released.

THE REVIEW

What I thought: really strong continuation of the TimeWar series, with some intriguing stories in this boxset. My highlight was ‘Cass-Cade’, very clever timey-wimey based back and forth story, with Cass being front and centre in this one. The relationship between the Doctor and Alex develops in some interesting directions and the cliffhanger ending sets up what will be an explosive and consequential next boxset in this TimeWar series. I thought I was maybe ‘over’ the time war but this boxset has re-ignited my interest, very strong.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Daleks – very strong set of stories, no weak episodes here. Cass and Alex are a lovely companion due for the Doctor, with lots of depth and complexity starting to be revealed..highly recommend.
